Árni Vilhjálmsson, born in Reykjavík, is 27 years old, an Icelandic national and plays as a striker.


He started his career at the age of 17 at the club Breidablik, defending champion of the first division of the Icelandic championship. He stayed with the club for 4 seasons (2011 to 2015), where he scored 21 goals in 54 league games.


4th top scorer of the championship at the end of the 2014/2015 season, he will sign the following year with the club of Lilleström (1st division of Norway), where he will stay 1 year and a half before returning to his first club, Breidablik, in the form of a loan, where he scored 6 goals in 12 league games.


Jönkōpings Södra, a club playing in the Swedish first division, will be his new club for the next two seasons, before joining Bruk-Bet Termalica Nieciecza (Polish second division) for the next 2 seasons.


In the 2019/2020 season, he will play for Kolos Kovalivka (Ukrainian 1st division) where he will score 5 goals in 15 matches.


He will return to where it all began, at the club Breidablik, in the Icelandic first division, club that played the qualifying stages of the Europa League Conference (elimination in the 3rd round against Aberdeen FC). In the calendar year 2021, Arni had his best season, scoring 16 goals and 7 assists in 23 games (including 3 goals in 4 games in the qualifying rounds of the Europa League Conference). His club will finish in second place in the standings, 1 point behind Víkingur Reykjavik.


Árni is a striker, ambidextrous, very attracted by the goal. He is able to take the depth, to provoke by his qualities of dribbling and finishing. He has been playing for almost 10 years in the best Nordic leagues, and is used to tough and committed matches, totally in line with the spirit of the club.


Finally, and to be completely complete, Arni has many selections with the Icelandic national team, 32 selections in youth teams (including 8 goals scored in 10 matches in the U19 team) and 1 selection with the Icelandic senior team.
