
CARINE WONG IRELAND
Carine's extensive knowledge of the global football industry derives from her unique playing, coaching and football management career.

She negotiated her own player transfer from the USA to Liverpool FC, becoming one of the first foreign players in England and was the first female to train youth boys professional Academy players in Hungary (See story) and the the only US female Founder, GM and Director of Coaching of leading girls US Soccer Development Academy and NPL Club.

Carine is a graduate of Stanford University where she played for the Women's Soccer team in her Freshman year (Pre-Med). She holds an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management.
Carine co-founded Soccerbook Consulting which operates globally global in the technical, commercial, financial investment, sponsorships/activations and employment areas of the the youth and professional game. As part of her consulting Carine has been GM and management consultant to US Soccer Development Academy, NPL and ECNL clubs for over 20 years.

Carine has contributed significantly to the growth of women's football in the USA not only as a player, coach, player trainer and manager but also as a philanthropist. She funded, created and operated highly regarded California girls youth soccer club PSV Union FC with husband Gary Ireland for 22 years, and has provided over US$2.5mil in financial aid for local in-need youth players since 2003. Carine leads The Soccer Fund, a charity organization she established with husband Gary Ireland to collaborate with football charity and health organizations throughout the world, using football as a vehicle to promote health awareness and social development and education.
Carine has trained, developed, advised and represented 300+ players to over 60 US colleges and over 40 players to national teams and Pro. In 2005 she created, funded and coached/managed a WPSL Women's professional club “Union FC”, finalists of Las Vegas Silver Mug tournament in only its first few months of operation.

She has arranged over 400 team participation in tournaments in 10+ US states and created, managed and coached bespoke team tours for North Carolina NCAA Women's Champions vs. Australia and New Zealand Women's National Teams and Queensland Women's State Team (see story) as well as games against girls Youth Academy clubs Liverpool, Manchester Utd, Everton, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspurs, QPR, Blackburn Rovers, Crystal Palace, Manchester City, Wolves, Leeds Utd.
She created/coached/managed California FC's 2014 FIFA Women's World Cup tour vs Wellington Phoenix and Japanese club Shonan Bellmare (see story). She also co-managed boys professional Academy tours against MTK Budapest, Blsany, Slavia Prague and Admira Wacker.

Carine founded, operated and consulted for various youth clubs and trained/advised/represented numerous players to US colleges, National and Professional teams. (See testimonials). She was instrumental training and placing players to over 50 US College and continues to mentor and prepare players to compete and study in US colleges. For 2 years Carine sponsored San Diego Surf Cup, the largest, most prestigious youth soccer tournament in the USA and has owned/operated several college recruiting combines. (Learn More)

Carine Co-Founded and is Executive Director of California based youth, college and professional player training and tour companies Dynamic Soccer (Silicon Valley) and Eclipse Academy (Southern California). Recently Carine co-founded Soccer Innovation Partners with women's soccer legend Anson Dorrance where they explored youth player development strategies and programs international professional player combines as well as small-sided game formats.
Carine is deeply focused on facility investment and development opportunities in North Carolina and California and explores opportunities globally, regularly providing advice and guidance to investors in clubs and facilities in overseas markets.
